FOR PAEDIATRIC PATIENTS (UP TO 16 YEARS OF AGE)
INVESTIGATION
- Complete blood count
- PT/INR, Bleeding, and clotting time
- Nasal secretions for culture or (cerebrospinal fluid) analysis (in case of suspected fungal disease or CSF leak)
- X-ray nasopharynx (in case of adenoid surgery)
- X-ray mastoid or HRCT temporal bone (in case of ear surgery)
- X-ray PNS or HRCT nose and PNS (in case of nose surgery)
- ECG Or X-RAY CHEST (your pediatrician might ask these tests if required for pre-surgery clearance)
- CT CISTERNOGRAPHY (in case of CSF leak)
TEST
- Nasal Endoscopy
- Otoscopy (ear endoscopy)
- Pure tone audiometry (for ear surgery)
- Impedance audiometry
- OAE and BERA (for cochlear implant surgery)
- Impedance tympanometry (for ear surgery)
- Fiber-optic laryngoscopy (for larynx/ vocal cord surgery)
- FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) – for lymph node, gland, or tumor-like swellings
FOR ADULT PATIENTS (17 TO 40 YEARS OF AGE)
INVESTIGATION
- Complete blood counts
- Random blood sugar
- Kidney function test
- PT/INR
- Viral serology- HIV, HCV, ANTI HBs
- ECCG
- XRAY CHEST
- URINE ROUTINE AND MICROSCOPY
- Nasal secretions for culture or (cerebrospinal fluid) analysis (in case of suspected fungal disease or CSF leak)
- X-ray mastoid or HRCT temporal bone (in case of ear surgery)
- X-ray PNS or HRCT nose and PNS (in case of nose surgery)
- MRI related to Ear, Nose Throat region
- CT CISTERNOGRAPHY (in case of CSF leak)
TEST
- Nasal Endoscopy
- Otoscopy (ear endoscopy)
- Pure tone audiometry (for ear surgery)
- Impedance tympanometry (for ear surgery)
- OAE and BERA (for cochlear implant surgery)
- Fiber-optic laryngoscopy (for larynx/ vocal cord surgery)
- Sleep endoscopy (if surgery is for sleep apnea)
- Polysomnography (PSG)or sleep study (if surgery is for sleep apnea)
FOR ADULTS MORE THAN 40 YEARS OF AGE
INVESTIGATION
- Complete blood counts
- Random blood sugar
- Kidney function test
- Liver function test
- PT/INR
- Viral serology- HIV, HCV, ANTI HBs
- ECCG, 2D ECHO
- XRAY CHEST
- URINE ROUTINE AND MICROSCOPY
- X-ray mastoid or HRCT temporal bone (in case of ear surgery)
- X-ray PNS or HRCT nose and PNS (in case of nose surgery)
- USG ABDOMEN (In case of bladder related complaints to rule out prostate hypertrophy)
- Pulmonary function tests (in case you are already suffering from a lung disease like COPD)
- Nasal secretions for culture or (cerebrospinal fluid) analysis (in case of suspected fungal disease or CSF leak)
- CT CISTERNOGRAPHY (in case of CSF leak)
